Harvey Weinstein Fired from His Own Company Effective Immediately • SUN OCT 08, 2017 6:37 PM CT

The Weinstein Company's Board of Representatives have "terminated" Harvey Weinstein, effective immediately, the company said in a statement released Sunday.

"In light of new information about misconduct by Harvey Weinstein that has emerged in the past few days, the directors of The Weinstein Company - Robert Weinstein, Lance Maerov, Richard Koenigsberg and Tarak Ben Ammar - have determined, and have informed Harvey Weinstein, that his employment with The Weinstein Company is terminated, effective immediately."

 Following the allegations last week published in the New York Times, some of which the film producer has denied, Weinstein has lost several key allies. His lawyer Lisa Bloom and advisor Lanny Davis resigned on Saturday, October 7, 2017 and nearly one-third of the Weinstein Company’s board resigned on Friday, according to Variety.

According to Variety, Harvey's brother Bob Weinstein is attempting to take the reins of the company.
